Diese Themenstunde findet in Englischer Sprache statt

Across Europe the 65+ generation currently represents 20-30% of the total population and it is predicted that one in four people alive today will survive beyond 100 years of age. There is great demand, particularly in this time of Covid confinement to provide educational activities that enhances the quality and the autonomy of individuals in their long life. Dance is a key activity delivering physical, mental and social health benefits for this growing elderly public.

This interactive session will explore some of the essential considerations and practicalities of delivering dance for the elderly and will focus on a few adapted practical teaching strategies that facilitate movement for all.

Participants will have the possibility to see theory in practice by participating in a senior Zoom session Wednesday 3rd Feb led by Clare Guss-West in collaboration with Zurich-based association Generation 65+, Konzert Theater Bern and University Bern and experience first-hand the inspiration and satisfaction of sharing the joy and the magic of dance for older adult learners.
